A Deeper Vision

Bodyboarding is a sport that has developed and grown with little or no attention. This body of work is meant to show the people and the community from the inside out. Majority of the images were constructed while spending a whole day with a wide range of riders from expert/legends to amature/unknowns. These riders work hard in order to be there at the right time and place when all the elements align.

This project was made while looking for waves with some of my closes friends in Southern California while I was working as Writer, Photographer, and Editor of BBR Magazine.
The Original 5.
This is a project that was several years in the making. Thanks to my good friend Steve Sawitz, we collaboration to track down these legends who started it all.
Core.
After Tom Morey shaped the first bodyboard on July 7,1971 the modern bodyboard has evolved. The men who have shaped the sport into what it is today are still hard at work hoping to make the perfect craft for the next world champion. Paradise.
Is a project that came from hanging out with some of America’s best and brightest young riders. I pinch myself every once in a while when I look back and think how lucky I have been to see what I have seen and meet the people I have met. To all those who have helped me along my travels, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
