The following project was conducted solely with a point and shoot camera that could fit in my back pocket. The images come from a single job that lasted two weeks. In the ten plus years working as a professional painter I never tried to work this way, and it was fun, new, exciting, and challenging. What this little camera allowed me to do was to break away from the traditional way of shooting. I was making pictures one handed; hanging off ladders thirty-six plus feet above the ground, while dust and shit was flying through the air. What came out were things that I’ve never realized that I loved about painting, as well as photography.
